What your child gains from NLSO
NLSO is designed to help students understand their science strengths and improvement areas. It is not only a prize or certificate activity. The assessment focuses on concepts, application, reasoning, and interpretation.

| What does SAI mean? | SAI means Scientific Aptitude Index. It explains science readiness through academic lenses such as concept clarity, application, reasoning, and interpretation. |
| Is the psychometric test compulsory? | Psychometric access should be treated as optional support and should not be used as a public ranking label or career judgement. |
| How are rankings calculated? | Rankings and recognition should follow the official scoring rules, moderation process, and public result notice for the relevant cycle. |
| When will results and certificates arrive? | ScienceX should publish answer-key, result, certificate, report, and grievance timelines on the service calendar and public notices page. |
| How is student data used? | Student data should be used for registration, assessment delivery, reporting, support, certification, and approved recognition only. |
How parents can support students
- Help the child read the syllabus and understand the exam format.
- Encourage a four-week preparation routine instead of last-minute pressure.
- Use mock tests to practise time management and question interpretation.
- Read the SAI report as guidance, not as a permanent label.
